Live Demos of EDGECAM Workflow And Waveform At SIMTOS

EDGECAM’s game-changing Workflow interface and Waveform cutting technology are being demonstrated at the South Korean SIMTOS exhibition – one of the world’s top four manufacturing shows.

Part of the Vero Group, EDGECAM is a market leading CAD CAM software for CNC programming. With unparalleled ease of use and intelligent toolpath generation, it is used extensively for 3D Milling, Mill-Turn Machining and Multi Axis Machining.

Kwangjae Lee, Managing Director of Vero’s South Korea reseller, Inno Corporation Ltd, says:  “As SIMTOS is the convergence of manufacturing technologies and machine tools, it’s the perfect venue to highlight how EDGECAM enhances productivity, reliability and flexibility, which helps increase profits.”

Live demonstrations of both Workflow and Waveform Roughing will feature on the Inno booth – 9F335 – at the show, between April 9 and 13 at the Kintex Exhibition Centre in Gyeonggi-do.

EDGECAM’s Workflow interface allows engineers to add toolpaths within seconds. “Simple ‘flow’ steps are followed after loading a solid, with the most frequently used icons placed together in ribbon format. This ease of use for aligning the component, adding to existing commands, adding stock and fixtures, and machining solid features, assists even new users, who’ve never seen EDGECAM before, to have a fully programmed prismatic feature-rich solid within as few as five commands.”

And EDGECAM’s revolutionary Waveform Roughing strategy is also expected to create interest on the booth. Designed to maximise material removal rates while prolonging both tool and machine tool life, it produces rough milling toolpaths that deliver shorter cycle times, greater tool life, better surface finish and are kinder to machine tools.

“It’s exciting when new technology comes along that changes things so much for the better. It’s a very powerful tool because it enables manufacturers to do much deeper depth cuts than before. And because feed and speed rates can be increased, it reduces cycle times considerably,” says Kwangjae Lee.

In addition, EDGECAM can be seen in action, driving CNC machines on the Hyundai Wia, Doosan and Hwacheon booths.

As well as EDGECAM, Inno will also be featuring Vero brands ALPHACAM, RADAN and WORKNC on their booth. Inno supplies software and support services to a number of industry sectors throughout South Korea, including aerospace, automotive, ship-building, domestic electronics and tooling.
